    • A computer, Mac or Windows.

    • A ChatGPT or Claude account. A free one works. On Claude's free plan you can add one custom connector, so keep that slot for Capi.

    • A Capi account. Free, no payment. Create it before you start: without one, Capi walks you through a short sign-up in the middle of the install, which adds 2 to 3 minutes.

    First, the idea

    What you're installing

    ChatGPT and Claude can use outside tools through connectors. A connector is a small link between your assistant and a service, so the assistant can use that service for you without you leaving the conversation.

    You may see the word MCP. It's the technical name of the standard connectors are built on, the way USB is the standard behind a plug. You don't need to know more than that.

    • ChatGPT calls them Plugins.
    • Claude calls them Connectors.

    A lawyer, from the same conversation

    When your work needs a lawyer, you call one in without explaining everything again. Your assistant passes on the context.

    What it isn't

    • Not a new assistant. You keep using ChatGPT or Claude.
    • Not new software to learn.
    • Not legal advice from an AI. When a lawyer is needed, a lawyer registered with the OAB at RPG Advocacia reviews and stands behind the result.
    Why it says “custom”

    Why you add Capi as a custom connector

    ChatGPT and Claude each keep a directory of connectors they have reviewed. Getting listed there means a review on their side, which takes time. Capi isn't listed yet. We'll submit it, and rather than make you wait, you add it yourself in the meantime, by pasting one web address. It's the same Capi and the same sign-in, so there's nothing to redo once Capi is listed.

    It's the assistant telling you it hasn't checked this connector itself. Every custom connector gets that message, so it isn't a sign that something is wrong. What Capi sees, and what it doesn't, is set out further down.

    Why you need the desktop app

    ChatGPT and Claude come in two forms: a website you open in your browser, and an app you install on your computer. They look almost the same, but only the app can work with files on your computer, and Capi's way of working keeps your work in a folder there.

    Your files, your call

    What Capi sees, and what it doesn't

    Everything happens on your computer. Capi gives your assistant its rules when you start. Your work only reaches Capi when you call a lawyer and say yes.

    Capi can't see or touch your files

    You work in your own folder, on your computer, including with the Método Capi. Capi has no way into it.

    Rules go in, nothing comes back

    Your assistant's working rules come from your folder or through the connector. Capi gets nothing back from them.

    Your chat reaches Capi only when you call a lawyer

    That's the one moment Capi receives context, and you see what will be sent before anything leaves your computer.
